Job summary

Morningstar, Inc. is seeking a Senior Quantitative Analyst to join the Quantitative Research team. You will develop and enhance the Morningstar Risk analytics platform, analyzing large datasets across assets and producing actionable insights to aid investor decisions.

You will own projects end-to-end, interface with Product and Engineering, and help shape AI approaches with a focus on responsible use. Strong communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience or master's with 3 years in quantitative research or related field.
• Strong knowledge of investing and financial markets, comparable to CFA level.
• Proficient in Python and SQL with production-quality code and documentation; AWS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Morningstar Risk analytics platform and methodologies.
• Analyze large financial datasets across asset classes and generate actionable insights.
• Own projects end-to-end from framing to production handoff; collaborate with Product and Engineering.
• Evaluate AI approaches and promote responsible AI practices with clear standards.
• Communicate methodologies clearly to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
• Review peers' work for technical soundness and actionable insights.
