Job summary

Beehive Industries is seeking a Senior Assembly Quality Technician to perform in-process and final engine inspections, create inspection processes, and maintain QMS documentation. The role collaborates with Engineering and Operations to resolve issues and ensures compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and related requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in a quality role.
  • Experience in AS9100 manufacturing and inspection environments.
  • Experience in sub and final assembly inspection methods and tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  • Experience creating quality documentation such as non-conformances and CoCs.
  • Experience developing quality procedures and work instructions.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient with GD&T read, write and interpret.
  • Drawing interpretation background.
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Collaborates effectively with production teams to correct issues quickly and keep operations moving safely and within quality standards.
  • Remains calm and objective in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical and visual electrical and mechanical inspections using tools such as torque wrenches, pin gages, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, and height gage.
  • Perform final inspection of all engines post build/test activities and prior to shipment.
  • Measure components and compare results to Engineering drawings and MES requirements with GD&T.
  • Create, develop, and implement inspection processes based on engine and customer specs.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Design Eng, & Manufacturing Eng to resolve issues found during product realization.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining the QMS such as calibration records, KPI tracking, and document control.
  • Create inspection documentation and collect/verify data for customer data packet or CoC packet.
  • Identify and record non-conformances using various software.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Review MES work instructions as translated from ENG drawings to shop floor processes.
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully during production challenges.

Job description

Role Overview

The Senior Assembly Quality Technician is comfortable making decisions based on facts, procedures, and risk assessment. The function is to perform various inspection duties such as (but not limited to) in process turbojet engine assy steps, torque verification, depth measurements, compliance to defined specifications, and final assembly “white glove” inspections denoting meticulous care. Will create, collect, and record inspection data, work closely with Engineering and Operations to resolve issues, and maintain document control in accordance with AS9100, AS9102, ITAR, and internal/customer requirements

What You’ll Do….
  • Perform physical and visual electrical and mechanical inspections using measurement and test equipment that includes, but is not limited to torque wrenches, pin gages, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, and height gage
  • Perform final inspection of all engines post build/test activities and prior to shipment
  • Measure components and compare results to Engineering drawings and defined MES requirements that contain GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and industry standard specification controls
  • Create, develop, and implement inspection processes based on the needs of the engine and customer specification
  • Collaborate with Quality, Design Eng, & Manufacturing Eng to resolve any issues found during product realization
  • Assist with creating and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) such as calibration records, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking, and document control
  • Create inspection documentation and collect and verify all data for customer data packet or CoC packet
  • Identify and record non-conformances when found using various software
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Review and provide input into MES work instructions as they are translated from ENG drawing to shop floor processes
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully, even during production challenges
You have…

  • Experience working in an AS9100 (or similar standard) manufacturing and inspection environment
  • Experience in sub and final assembly inspection methods and tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)

Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
