Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent required.
  • 7+ years of experience in clinical quality, patient safety, or performance improvement.
  • Knowledge of patient safety regulations, accreditation standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent judgment and analytical/problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Clinical licensure and Epic familiarity preferred.
  • Experience leading RCA, ACA, FMEA, or related safety methodologies preferred.

Job description

  • Lead investigations and analysis of patient safety events and quality concerns
  • Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Partner with multidisciplinary teams to implement and evaluate corrective actions and measures of effectiveness
  • Facilitate Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), Apparent Cause Analyses (ACAs), Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA), safety huddles, and debriefs for serious patient safety events
  • Partner with clinical and operational leadership to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and measure improvement effectiveness
  • Promote High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles, Just Culture, and patient safety best practices through education, collaboration, and coaching
  • Coordinate regulatory reporting activities and support compliance with Joint Commission (JC), CMS, and Departments of Health (NYPORTS and NJ PSRS)
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field
  • 7+ years of recent experience in a clinical, quality, patient safety, or performance improvement setting
  • Working knowledge of patient safety regulations, accreditation standards, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and meeting facilitation skills
  • Excellent judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong data analysis and interpretive skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations diplomatically and maintain confidentiality
  • Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Clinical licensure and familiarity with Epic strongly preferred
  • Experience leading or facilitating Root Cause Analyses (RCA), Apparent Cause Analyses, FMEA, or other patient safety methodologies preferred
  • Expertise in High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles, change management, and continuous improvement methodologies preferred
  • Experience in Press Ganey HPI Safety Event Classification preferred
  • CPHQ or CPPS certification are a plus
