Job summary

RTUS (Rep the US) is seeking a Senior SQF Quality Manager to oversee quality, food safety, and compliance in a fast-paced food-contact packaging environment. You will lead the site’s SQF and Food Safety Management Systems and ensure documentation meets SQF, customer, regulatory, and company requirements.

The role requires 7+ years in quality/food safety with 3+ years in leadership, HACCP training, strong auditing skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality, Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, Packaging, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive quality and/or food safety experience in manufacturing, including 3+ years in a quality leadership role.
• Experience administering an SQF-certified comparable GFSI-recognized management system.
• Formal HACCP training and working knowledge of risk-based food safety planning.
• Strong experience with internal auditing, corrective action, root-cause analysis, supplier, quality, document control, and traceability.
• Knowledge of regulatory, customer, specification, and certification requirements.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic quality/document-management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the site’s SQF and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Oversee HACCP, GMP, sanitation, food safety, and quality programs.
• Lead SQF certification, recertification, internal audits, and corrective actions.
• Establish and maintain product inspection, testing, sampling, and quality standards.
• Investigate customer complaints, defects, nonconformances, and recurring quality issues.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions; manage supplier quality, raw material requirements, and supplier corrective actions.
• Ensure effective product identification, traceability, holds, release, and recall procedures.
• Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, customer, and food-contact requirements.
• Lead quality and food safety training and help develop quality team members.
• Partner with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Sales, and Operations to improve processes and product quality.
• Monitor quality KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
