Job summary

WESTRAFO AMERICA LLC is seeking a Quality Manager to develop and maintain the QMS within an electrical transformer manufacturing facility in Ohio. You will lead quality teams, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements.

The role oversees audits, testing, supplier and customer quality, and cross-functional collaboration to uphold product integrity and regulatory compliance. On-site in Trotwood, OH, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or related field.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
• 7+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience in electrical equipment, power distribution, heavy manufacturing, or transformer manufacturing preferred.
• Strong understanding of transformer testing (electrical, insulation, mechanical) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a robust QMS aligned with ISO standards and customer requirements.
• Lead internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
• Maintain quality documentation, procedures, work instructions, and records.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards.
• Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
• Ensure Transformer testing processes meet performance and safety standards.
• Analyze quality data and KPIs to identify trends and implement improvements.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and CAPA processes.
• Review and approve engineering changes from a quality standpoint.
• Manage customer complaints and warranty claims, ensuring timely resolution.
• Act as the primary quality contact for customers during audits or issue resolution.
• Oversee supplier qualification, audits, and supplier performance metrics.
• Collaborate with procurement and engineering to improve supplier quality.
• Lead, coach, and develop Quality Engineers, Technicians, and Inspectors.
• Promote a culture of quality ownership across the organization.
• Conduct quality training for employees across all departments.
• Drive accountability for adherence to procedures and standards.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead process capability studies and quality improvement projects.
• Identify opportunities to reduce defects, rework, scrap, and warranty costs.
• Support cross-functional problem-solving teams.
• Ensure products meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain compliance with customer and industry certifications.
• Partner with EHS to align quality and safety initiatives.
