Job summary

Stark Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Quality Inspector to perform extensive inspection functions across the organization, including incoming, in-process, and finished product checks.

The role requires ten years with a QMS, aerospace experience with FAI, and solid skills in dimensional and visual inspection, using standard measuring equipment; MS Outlook/Excel/Word proficiency is expected. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ten years in a QA environment with documented QMS and production inspection experience.
• 5+ years in aerospace with First Article Inspection (FAI).
• Understanding of engineering drawings, standards and quality requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Approve incoming materials: confirm specifications, conduct visual and measurement tests, and reject unacceptable materials per Stark procedures and customer requirements.
• Approve in-process production: confirm specifications, conduct tests; communicate adjustments to production supervisor and personnel.
• Approve finished products: confirm specifications, conduct tests; issue COC’s; return products for re-work and confirm re-work.
• Document inspection results: complete reports and logs; summarize re-work and waste; input data into quality database.
• Issue, review and validate product non-conformances.
• Review quality procedures and engineering requirements.
• Recommend adjustments to receiving, assembly, production and/or shipping processes.
• Train and mentor personnel in building quality into the product.
• Issue nonconformances; assist in validating corrective actions.
• Perform First Article Inspection and documentation.
• Provide technical support.
• Provide timely support of identified issues.
• Provide oversight for production equipment maintenance and inspection.
• Maintain tracking spreadsheets (vendors, calibrated tools).
• Conduct internal and external Quality Management System audits as required.
• Contribute to team communication between Quality and Production.

• Approve in-process production: confirm specifications, conduct visual and measurement tests; communicate required adjustments to production supervisor and personnel.
• Approve finished products: confirm specifications, conduct visual and measurement tests, issue COC’s, return products for re-work and confirming re-work.
• Document inspection results: complete reports and logs; summarize re-work and waste; input data into quality database.
• Issue, review and validate product non-conformances.
• Review quality procedures and engineering requirements.
• Recommend adjustments to the receiving, assembly, production and/or shipping processes.
• Train and mentor personnel in the importance of building quality into the product.
• Issue nonconformances; review and assist in validating corrective action plans for nonconformance issues.
• Perform First Article Inspection and documentation.
• Provide technical support.
• Provide timely support of identified issues.
• Provide oversight for production equipment maintenance and inspection.
• Maintain various tracking spreadsheets e.g.: approved vendors, calibrated tools, etc.
• Conduct/assist with internal and external Quality Management System audits as required.
• Contribute to a team environment resulting in effective communication between Quality Department and Production.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Travel as needed.

Education and Experience: Required:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ten years working in an environment with a documented quality management system, production inspection experience or relative work experience qualifying individual to conduct inspection work, including dimensional inspections using standard precision measuring equipment, visual inspection techniques, and basic shop math
• 5+ years working in an aerospace environment with FAI.
• Understanding of unique subjects as defined in engineering documents, drawings, standards, quality requirements, etc.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
• Preferred:
• Experience in electro optics assembly environment and with ESD sensitive parts.
• Experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 certified aerospace company.
