Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Senior Quality Technician to organize, execute and monitor quality and food safety activities in our Indiana facility. You will help ensure incoming raw materials, packaging and finished goods meet corporate specs and regulatory requirements, and you will support training and audits.

Responsibilities include maintaining GMP/SQF compliance, promoting safety, and supporting the Quality Manager with policy development and third-party audits.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Food Science, Science or related discipline preferred.
• One-year experience in a Food Manufacturing environment.
• General knowledge/training in Food Safety, HACCP, SQF preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
• Ability to analyze data and information and make effective and timely decisions.
• Ability to work under pressure and react to situations with urgency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization.
• Detail oriented, organized, reliable and resourceful.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assure facility compliance to affiliate, regulatory and best in class industry quality, GMP, SQF and sanitation standards through monitoring and reporting procedures.
• Promote plant safety and environmental programs in compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain quality and food safety manuals to ensure policies are current and aligned with SQF requirements.
• Conduct quality and food safety training as required for all plant personnel.
• Assist in developing and implementing quality and food safety systems and support third-party audits.
• Provide technical production assistance during trials and with GMPs, sanitation, and ingredient/product wholesomeness.
• Lead evaluation of consumer complaints and corrective actions.
• Lead in maintaining HACCP program compliance.
• Coordinate storage and rework of quality control holds.
• Keep Leadership informed of QA and sanitation issues affecting production.
• Provide supervisory leadership when the Department Quality Manager is not available.
• Practice 200% Safety Accountability - Self and Others.
