Senior Quality & Food Safety Manager — Onsite

Job summary

ADM is seeking a seasoned Quality Manager to oversee the quality and product safety programs at our Clinton, IA facility. You will lead QC staff and the Lab Manager, ensure checks meet procedures, manage audits, and drive CAPA with cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities include pest control oversight, training, monthly inspections, product recalls, and coordinating FDA and internal audits. A BS in Food Science or equivalent plus 5+ years in quality is required; on-site work is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of FDA and state regulatory requirements.
• Trained in Preventive Controls for Human Food and/or Animal Food preferred.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead and coach a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA and product safety programs to ensure compliance with ADM, regulatory and customer requirements.
• Direct Reports include QC staff and Lab Manager.
• Verify quality and product safety checks are completed per procedures.
• Verify high-risk activities are completed before shipment.
• Schedule monitoring activities (carryover studies, uniformity studies, scale checks, traceability).
• Monitor products for quality parameters and report out-of-spec results, implementing CAPAs as needed.
• Prepare facility for customer audits and certifications (FSSC, GMP+).
• Lead facility audits and 3rd party certifications.
• Provide quality trainings and maintain training records.
• Manage monthly GMP plant inspections and investigations with CAPA.
• Investigate manufacturing errors and complete CAPA reports; justify disposition of products.
• Coordinate root cause analyses and corrective actions with Operations.
• Ensure equipment validation for high-risk products.
• Oversee Pest Control Program and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain food safety plan, conduct routine meetings, and update risk assessments.
• Manage product recalls at plant level with divisional support.
• Develop and maintain site-specific work instructions and lead internal audits.
