Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC seeks a Principal Quality Engineer to provide technical leadership for I&C projects, software lifecycles, and QA oversight in a nuclear context. You will ensure compliance with contract and industry standards, mentor QA staff, and collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and suppliers.

The role requires expertise in regulatory standards (10 CFR, ASME NQA-1, ISO 19443), audits, supplier quality, and cross-functional risk management; domestic and international

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
• 8+ years experience in commercial nuclear power or similar highly regulated industry.
• Working knowledge of regulations and standards (10 CFR Part 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, ASME NQA-1, ISO 19443).
• Experience with audits, assessments, corrective action, supplier quality, or complex quality oversight.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Lead Auditor or ASQ certification preferred.
• Experience with nuclear I&C, digital systems, software QA, or IV&V a plus.
• Experience with supplier quality, commercial-grade dedication, manufacturing quality, or project quality assurance preferred.
• Experience supporting customer, regulatory, or third-party audits preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA planning and oversight for I&C projects, software lifecycle activities.
• Interpret/regulate standards and customer specifications, and QA requirements.
• Develop and review project quality plans, procedures, surveillance plans, audit plans.
• Provide QA oversight across engineering, software, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and projects.
• Lead or support audits, surveillances, self-assessments, supplier assessments, audit-readiness.
• Lead QA involvement in corrective actions, root cause, and effectiveness reviews.
• Represent I&C QA during customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
• Identify quality risks and drive cross-functional resolution.
• Analyze quality performance and operating experience for improvements.
• Mentor Quality Engineers on requirements, problem solving, and QA programs.
