Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer to lead APQP for NPI and NCI projects, ensuring early risk identification and robust launch quality. You will drive PFMEA, control plans, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver high-quality new products and capital introductions.

You will guide process validation, capability analyses, production trials, and run‑at‑rate activities, partnering with manufacturing and engineering to ensure readiness and prevent issues during early production.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor-level engineering degree or equivalent.
• Experience applying APQP, PFMEA, and control plans in NPI/NCI.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead APQP execution for NPI and NCI programs and ensure early validation planning and readiness.
• Develop, review, and maintain PFMEA and control plans aligned to risk and customer requirements.
• Lead quality on new product and new capital programs through design readiness, manufacturability, and inspection strategy.
• Drive process validation activities including capability analysis, production trials, and run‑at‑rate evaluations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, and engineering to ensure readiness and launch quality.
• Monitor quality indicators during early production and drive preventive actions.
