Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks a Quality Engineer at the Charleston facility to provide technical oversight ensuring first-time quality maintenance for Navy Nuclear propulsion systems. You will conduct audits, mentor on self-assessment, and coordinate emergency response qualifications.

A QAOC-capable professional with related degrees and experience is required. The role emphasizes collaboration with Navy and civilian personnel, continuous improvement, and safeguarding operations while training

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related technical, engineering or science field with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Masters degree in a related technical, engineering or science field with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Doctorate in a related technical, engineering or science field with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Currently a Principal Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight for site organizations to affect first time quality maintenance.
  • Conduct thorough surveillances of maintenance work in progress and audits of records.
  • Mentor site organizations in critical self-assessment to drive improvement.
  • Qualify and maintain an NPTU Charleston Emergency Response Organization position.
  • Complete the 5-week QAOC course in Norfolk, VA or hold QAOC qualification.
