Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group in Illinois is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to strengthen quality management systems within a metals manufacturing environment. This role leads QMS improvements, audits, and corrective actions to drive quality performance.

The ideal candidate collaborates with operations, engineering, suppliers, and customers to ensure ISO 9001/AS9100 compliance and is skilled in structured problem solving to reduce defects and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or metallurgy or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience with Quality Management Systems, internal auditing, supplier quality, and corrective action management.
• Significant experience leading structured problem-solving initiatives utilizing 8D and root cause analysis.
• ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Lead Auditor experience; ASQ certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Lead internal and supplier quality audits and drive nonconformance closure.
• Serve as Lead Auditor and train internal auditors.
• Facilitate Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and verify effectiveness.
• Lead 8D and RCA driven process improvements.
• Support supplier quality programs and metrology activities.
• Interface with customers and auditors on quality requirements.
• Develop quality procedures and documentation compliance.
• Coordinate calibration and measurement system validation.
