Protolabs is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives across manufacturing, processes and systems. You will drive investigations, implement sustainable improvements, and collaborate with engineering, operations, and customers to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.

The role emphasizes process control, problem solving with DMAIC/8D, and strong focus on ISO quality standards. Expect a fast-paced, team-driven environment with exposure to audits and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 7+ years of experience as a quality engineer in manufacturing.
• Deep and broad understanding of quality systems and practices.
• Proficiency in ISO 9001, 13485 and AS9100.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience applying Lean and DMAIC for continuous improvement.
• Proficient with statistical software (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
• Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide QA technical leadership in manufacturing; analyze cost of poor quality.
• Define QC procedures; specify, procure and implement testing equipment.
• Lead continuous improvement activities; drive projects in quality disciplines.
• Collaborate with engineering to characterize processes and establish control plans.
• Investigate customer complaints; identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Support audits internal, external and customer-focused.
• Lead corrective and preventive actions across internal processes, suppliers and audits.
• Evaluate and revise product acceptance criteria for Proto Labs services.
