Zusammenfassung

MDC Precision seeks an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations at our Sarasota facility. The role strengthens product quality, manufacturing processes, the QMS, and continuous improvement, with development toward a future Quality Manager role.

Key responsibilities include supporting Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations; leading nonconformance investigations; maintaining ISO 9001 QMS; and driving improvement projects to reduce defects and costs.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management or related discipline, or equivalent combination.
• Minimum 5–7 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Strong root cause analysis, corrective action, and nonconformance management skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of inspection methods, metrology, calibration, and measurement systems.
• Experience with internal audits and customer or certification audits.
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects and solve complex quality issues.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Excel.

Aufgaben

• Provide quality engineering support to Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations.
• Investigate nonconformances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and inspection requirements.
• Support First Article Inspections (FAI), product qualifications, and process improvements.
• Evaluate inspection methods and support disposition of nonconforming materials.
• Maintain and improve the ISO 9001 QMS and applicable AS9100 requirements.
• Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, and controlled documents.
• Participate in internal, external, and customer audits; address process gaps.
• Support management reviews, quality objectives, and performance reporting.
• Lead investigations of customer complaints, RMAs, and quality concerns.
• Coordinate corrective actions and communicate findings to customers and internal teams.
• Track DPPM, COPQ, complaints, and audit findings to identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead projects reducing defects, scrap, rework, and inspection costs.
• Mentor Quality Inspectors and Technicians and lead cross-functional quality initiatives.
• Support departmental objectives, priorities, and resource planning.
• Develop leadership and decision-making capabilities with Quality leadership for potential advancement into Quality Management.
