Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to validate and maintain large-scale camera-based viewing systems across bench and vehicle environments. You’ll own the system-level test strategy, collaborate across software, hardware, and calibration teams, and drive issues to resolution in a fast-paced setting.

You will develop test plans, automate test scripts, and lead regression testing while integrating with Jenkins CI/CD. Travel is <25% and onsite work is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Software Test Engineer or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience testing development vehicles and test benches.
• Experience owning system-level test planning, execution, and release readiness.
• Automation scripting experience and at least one test framework such as Autobot.
• Experience building automated regression tests and integrating with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Ability to troubleshoot across hardware, embedded software, vehicle signals, calibration, and test infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira/Xray, test traceability, and structured defect reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for new and existing viewing software features.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency, repeatability, and coverage.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing to validate viewing software on bench and vehicle environments.
• Debug and troubleshoot system-level failures across vehicle and bench environments.
• Conduct performance and load testing to identify bottlenecks and improve scalability and reliability.
• Document, log, and track defects; collaborate with developers to drive resolution.
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner with product managers, software developers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality viewing system software.
