Job summary

GCS Recruitment seeks a Senior Quality Engineer with deep experience in software development, test automation, and quality assurance to ensure reliable, scalable, and high-performing applications. This hands-on role emphasizes building and testing software effectively with automation.

You will develop automated tests, analyze quality metrics, troubleshoot defects, and partner with software engineers to improve the SDLC within a fast-paced environment in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software development, quality assurance, testing, or systems engineering.
• Strong understanding of software testing and quality assurance methodologies.
• Experience creating formal test plans and test cases.
• Experience with test automation.
• Programming experience with Java, .NET, Node.js, Ruby, or similar languages.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and modern web applications.
• Strong SQL and relational database skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and testing strategies.
• Write, maintain, and execute manual and automated test cases.
• Track and analyze defects, test results, and other quality assurance metrics.
• Partner with software engineers to identify and resolve application issues.
• Participate in test automation and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform quality audits to ensure development teams are following established standards and methodologies.
• Analyze software development processes and recommend improvements.
• Provide guidance and support to technical teams on software quality best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to testing and development standards.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to test plans, defects, processes, and technical solutions.
• Support application development, integration, implementation, and production troubleshooting.
