Pearson is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead quality strategy across ExamDeveloper and OnVUE platforms, driving automation maturity and release confidence across the full assessment lifecycle.

You will mentor engineers, shape testing practices, and collaborate with product, engineering, DevOps, security, and operations to deliver reliable, scalable assessment technology used by learners and testing organizations worldwide.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IS or equivalent.
• 5+ years quality engineering, software testing, or test automation experience.
• Experience leading quality for complex web‑based, cloud‑hosted, or customer‑facing applications.
• Strong knowledge of test strategy, defect management, regression planning, and release validation.
• Demonstrated experience providing technical guidance and mentoring within Agile teams.
• Strong automation-first testing principles and quality engineering best practices.

• Lead test strategy and quality planning for new features, platform enhancements, and releases.
• Design comprehensive test approaches spanning functional, integration, regression, API, accessibility, negative, and end-to-end testing.
• Build, maintain, and improve automated testing coverage across web, API, and workflow scenarios.
• Perform hands‑on testing for complex, high‑risk, cross‑functional initiatives.
• Define and enforce quality gates and release readiness criteria.
• Lead defect triage, root cause analysis, retesting, and validation activities.
• Review automation and regression results, identify trends, and improve reliability and coverage.
• Partner with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, DevOps, Security, and Operations teams.
• Use metrics, production insights, telemetry, and defect trends to continuously improve quality practices.
• Mentor and coach quality engineers in automation design, test strategy, accessibility validation, and release readiness.
• Identify quality risks early and drive proactive mitigation plans.
