Job summary

Umicore in Tulsa, OK, is seeking an Analytical Laboratory professional to drive development and implementation of analytical methods, ensuring integrity and reliability of laboratory operations while supporting PMC production and development activities.

The role requires at least one year of bench experience, expertise in spectroscopy and ICP/wet chemistry, and readiness to maintain equipment and calibration programs in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the equipment and chemicals used.
• Training and experience in the operation, calibration and method development for specialized equipment such as ICP and wet chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Perform ICP, gravimetric, wet chemistry, ion chromatography, titration, and other analyses.
• Coordinate ICP Analysis and Wet Chemistry processes for PMC production and development products; maintain and improve test methods and calibration.
• Work with LIMS system to receive and report data; support set up for new products and tests.
• Implement new tests and techniques for emerging requirements; coordinate tests by outside labs or other Umicore sites.
• Maintain systems to monitor performance of laboratory equipment, including MSAs or capability studies.

Your Key Accountabilities

• Perform ICP, gravimetric, wet chemistry, ion chromatography, titration, and other analyses. Responsible to provide accurate and timely laboratory data that will be used for the generation of Certificates of Analysis for products released by Precious Metals Chemistry (PMC).
• Coordinate and ensure timely and accurate ICP Analysis and Wet Chemistry processes for the support of PMC production and development products (and Stationary Catalyst support as needed). Responsible for the strict control, maintenance, and improvements of existing analytical test methods, equipment, and calibration requirements to guarantee accuracy and precision. Maintains overall laboratory cleanliness and a safe work environment.
• Work with LIMS system to receive and report data – support set up for new products and tests. Provide analytical resolution when issues or conflicts arise.
• Implement new tests and techniques for emerging requirements or product technology. Evaluate and determine procedures as well as perform testing for non-routine ICP and wet chemistry samples. Coordinate tests by outside laboratories or by other Umicore sites.
• Maintain systems to monitor performance of laboratory equipment, including MSA’s or capability studies.
