Job summary

Index Engines seeks senior QA Engineers to ensure CyberSense meets high standards of quality across functionality, security, usability and reliability. The Regression Test team handles manual regression testing and various projects.

You will work with product managers, developers, and the Test Automation team to create test plans, scripts in PyTest and Playwright, and perform tests on Linux environments. A strong background in storage tech and backups is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of QA engineering in a product company.
• Experience testing full-stack applications on Linux.
• Ability to develop test plans from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers and Scrum team to understand requirements and user stories.
• Develop, document, and execute test plans as part of a team.
• Perform QA testing across the application stack.
• Generate data and backups for testing backup applications using databases, VMs, and file systems.
• Install and configure Index Engines products on Linux environments, including VM creation.
• Assist Test Automation team with automated tests using PyTest and Playwright.
• Ensure seamless integration of software modules and adherence to system requirements.

The Role

Index Engines has an outstanding career opportunity for senior level Quality Assurance Engineers. This role is essential in ensuring that our CyberSense product meets high standards of quality in terms of functionality, security, usability, and reliability. The Regression Test team is responsible for manual aspects of regression testing as well as other regular and one-off testing projects. The successful candidate will have experience with storage technologies, backup applications, testing in a Linux environment, agile testing, and test planning and test execution.

What You'll Do

• Work with product managers and Scrum team members to understand requirements and user stories for new features.
• Develop, document, and execute test plans as part of a team approach
• Perform QA testing across the application stack
• Generate data and or backups required for testing backup applications making use of databases, virtual machines and or file systems
• Install and configure Index Engines’ products on Linux environments, including the creation of virtual machines as needed
• Work with the Test Automation team, supporting the development of automated tests using PyTest and Playwright
• Ensure seamless integration of software modules, confirming adherence to system requirements.
• Support product maintenance by conducting compatibility tests with third-party software updates, reporting and troubleshooting bugs, and investigating customer-reported issues in collaboration with the Product Support team

What You Bring

• Professional Experience in QA Engineering in a product company: minimum 7-10 years
• Experienced testing full stack applications in a Linux environment
• Experience with developing test plans from scratch
• Software Backup Application Technology, Data & File Storage
• Skilled in Bash or Python scripting
• Database experience (structure, creation, backups, encryption, administration)
• Familiar with REST APIs and testing tools such as Postman and cURL
• Knowledge of database structures, creation, backups, encryption, and additional database features (Preferred)
• Server and Virtual Machine experience
• Agile Development methodology
• Strong Interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Strong written and oral communications skills
• Enjoys working in a challenging and highly collaborative environment.
• Able to accommodate the time zone differences required to work with teams in the US and Asia
• Require minimal supervision and be able to operate in a matrixed organization
• Desire to learn new technologies
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

We’d Love It If You Have

• Windows OS: 3+ years
• Primary Storage usage with Volumes, Snapshots, iSCSI and Fiber Channel
• Exposure to security tools/security testing, or related security practices
• Experience with Jira, Xray, and Confluence.
• Master’s degree in computer science or related field
