Job summary

Material in New York City is seeking a Sr. Manager, Qualitative Insights hybrid role near our office. You will manage multiple qualitative research engagements, guide junior to mid-level staff, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for technology and other clients.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors, oversee client relationships, deliver client-ready reports, and mentor associates while partnering with senior leadership for training.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of market research experience with a track record of managing end-to-end projects.
• Strong understanding of qualitative methodologies (focus groups, IDIs, ethnographies, online communities).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage vendor relationships.
• Mentorship/leadership experience with junior staff a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead multiple qualitative research engagements.
• Educate clients about process and frame insights for actionable recommendations.
• Develop client-ready reports, slides, videos, and microsites.
• Oversight of project teams, scoping, and escalation of roadblocks.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Insights, Design, Quant, India Cohort) and external vendors.
