Job summary

dsm-firmenich in Belvidere, NJ is seeking a Senior Technician – Quality Control to coordinate routine and non-routine laboratory testing per GMP/GLP. You will handle in-process samples from Operations and the Fermentation Pilot Plant, maintain instruments, records, and data management, ensuring a clean, efficient laboratory environment.

You will also support planned Pilot Plant activities, work rotating shifts, and contribute to continuous process improvements in quality control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry preferred.
• 1 year experience in microbiology laboratory/fermentation environment.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and coordinate multiple resources without direct supervision.
• Broad / General knowledge of quality control techniques and methods.
• Broad understanding of safety, hygiene and GMP rules
• Ability to accurately execute assigned tasks and apply problem solving and critical thinking skills to identify solutions to daily challenges.

Responsibilities

• Autonomous accomplishment of analysis / testing in the Laboratory with emphasis on organized daily routine.
• Broad knowledge of different analytical / microbiological techniques. Responsibility for Laboratory and some Operations analytical equipment.
• Administrative tasks such as writing SOP’s and procurement of laboratory/pilot plant and some operations supplies. Recommend updates of SOPs when needed.
• Knowledge of the Management-of-Change (MOC) process.
• Maintains, calibrates, validates, monitors, and troubleshoots laboratory equipment.
• Performs calculations, collets, and prepares data for evaluation.
• Additional responsibilities as defined and provided by leadership.
