Job summary

dsm-firmenich in Kingstree, SC, seeks a Senior Technician, Quality Control, Fermentation Lab to support fermentation operations through culture preparation, analytical testing, and process monitoring. You will work with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure product quality and compliance at our Kingstree facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional education in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related technical field is a plus.
• Ability to perform laboratory testing, sample preparation, and analytical procedures with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience documenting, recording, and communicating results in accordance with cGMP and GDP.
• Competence using laboratory equipment including spectroscopy, microscopes, pH meters, analytical balances, and centrifuges.
• Follow SOPs, identify deviations, and maintain compliance with quality standards.
• Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills (MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical, microbiological, and fermentation-related testing to support product quality and process performance.
• Monitor fermentation parameters, collect and analyze samples, and communicate results.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory and fermentation equipment per procedures and quality standards.
• Provide technical support to laboratory and production teams on quality, process, and equipment issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, method enhancements, and operational excellence programs.
