Job summary

Tutor Perini Corporation is hiring a QC Inspector (Systems) to oversee quality control for a heavy rail subway project in Los Angeles, CA. You will coordinate across electrical, mechanical, fire protection, communications, traction power, train control, and related subsystems, ensuring interoperability and robust testing.

The role requires 10+ years in transit systems, LA Metro project experience, and the ability to review complex drawings and ICDs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in transit systems or rail infrastructure.
• Experience on LA Metro projects and heavy rail interfaces.
• Ability to read complex drawings, schematics, and interface documents.
• Strong knowledge of IEEE, NFPA, AREMA, and NEMA standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Primary QC inspection function with focus on rail systems and integration of all technical systems across the project.
• Monitor and inspect system interfaces (electrical, mechanical, fire protection, communications, traction power, train control, SCADA) and ensure proper documentation.
• Monitor interface control documents (ICDs) and participate in safety certification to track responsibilities and requirements.
• Work with design engineers, contractors, OEM vendors, and client representatives to resolve system interface conflicts.
• Verify communication protocols between systems are compatible and functional.
• Inspect, coordinate, and oversee system integration testing (SIT) with defined sequencing.
• Facilitate cross-discipline coordination meetings to track readiness and progress.
• Review contractor and vendor test plans and interface designs for compliance.
• Monitor system readiness for LFAT, integration testing, revenue service simulations, and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with transit authority standards and safety requirements.
