Job summary

Croda in Alabaster, Alabama, is seeking a Senior QC Analyst to evaluate raw materials, in-process and final samples, ensuring GMP compliance and timely completion of tasks. The role includes mentoring others, SOP development, calibration and maintenance of lab equipment, and collaboration with internal and external partners.

The ideal candidate will have a scientific bachelor’s degree, 4+ years laboratory experience, and strong attention to detail, integrity, and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
  • 3+ years relevant experience preferred; 4+ years laboratory experience required.
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity and reliability.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work in a team or independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing using standard procedures and GMP guidelines.
  • Train others in SOP execution and assist in SOP development.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Document data analysis and results to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare SOPs and documentation for test verification or validation studies.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners on test methods and results.
  • Manage preparation, calibration, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Assist with procurement of supplies and materials.
  • Support QC assay validation activities and training records.

As we deliver our ambitious 2030 Growth Strategy, we’re looking for a Senior QC Analyst, responsible for biological and chemical evaluation of raw materials, in-process, final release and stability samples ensuring compliance and timely completion of assigned task as well as other auxiliary laboratory support functions. May also serve as a subject matter expert in define areas and provide training and guidance to other analysts.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform laboratory testing using standard laboratory procedures, principles, practices, concepts, and theories
  • Have a complete mastery of assigned SOPs and can train others in their execution
  • Develop and write SOPs as needed following GMP guidelines
  • Perform daily operation and routine maintenance, calibration, and assist in troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Document and review routine data analysis, procedures, and results to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures and prepare documentation for test verification or validation studies
  • Recognize basic problems and adhere to quality standard procedures
  • Assembles quality control data for further analysis; recognize problems; documents issues and initiates corrective actions
  • Consult and interact with external and internal partners regarding test methods and results
  • Responsible for preparation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory and facility equipment
  • Assist with the procurement of supplies and materials
  • Perform duties associated with validation of QC assays
  • Promotes overall cleanliness/neatness of lab and storage areas
  • Communicates problems or potential issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain an understanding of cGMP and compliance in an analytical laboratory setting
  • Perform regular upkeep of employee training records and complete company required training programs
  • Prepare and align individual performance goals with department goals
  • Transfer strong knowledge of GMP guidelines/practices to new laboratory protocols and situations
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance as outlined in the company's Standard Operating Procedures, Chemical Hygiene Plan, Emergency Contingency Plan, training memoranda, policy memoranda, Safety Data Sheets, Specification Records, etc.
