Job description

Skymap Games is hiring a Sr. QA tester to help us deliver the highest quality games possible by providing insightful feedback and technical analysis. In this role you will think creatively and analytically to thoroughly test games for bugs and crashes, as well as to provide non-technical feedback on gameplay mechanics, aesthetics, feel, etc. You will create detailed logs and meet with a team from each project to discuss your findings.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement and maintain a solid QA framework and process
• Champion the evolution of QA’s methodology, tools and impact by always seeking for opportunities to improve process and efficiency.
• Working with your QA Engineers, establish testing tools and a pipeline to identify and create new tools or resources
• Be able to provide an holistic quality overview of upcoming changes or additions at any given time, through relevant tracking and reporting
• Coordinate testing needs surrounding technical investigation of issues uncovered through negative KPI trends and / or Customer Support escalations
• Build and deploy testing suites and cases to verify game feature functionality
• Be the connection point and knowledge base for QA leveraging your domain expertise
• Complete directed and adhoc testing of game features
• Coordinate with internal Certification and Release team on 3rd party compliance and performance data captures
• Advocate for the quality of the player experience

Qualifications

• Exceptional Quality Assurance skills with 2 years game industry experience
• Excellent communication and effective time management skills
• Strong time management, accountability and organizational skills
• Proactive, enthusiastic and self-motivated
• Flexible to an agile setup with the ability to multitask, managing coverage for multiple high profile releases with strict deadlines
• Exceptional reporting capabilities
• Knowledge of JIRA and / or similar bug tracking systems
• Experience supporting multiple platforms (PC, Console, Mobile)
• A sound understanding of the gaming industry and the typical end to end development lifecycle
• Familiarity with automation frameworks
• Passion for making video games the best they can be
• Works well in a team and independently
• Experience working on large, diverse, and remote teams

Pluses

• Experience in large complex games (MMO's), Live Ops
• Knowledge and experience working with Unreal
