Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey seeks a Manager of Structural Integrity to oversee condition survey projects and respond to immediate structural deficiencies at Port Authority facilities. You will review reports and manage teams of project leaders to ensure timely, compliant outcomes.

Responsibilities include coordinating with QA leadership, preparing budgets, and maintaining the structural data systems.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Five or more years of specific condition inspection and design experience of various types of structures.
• Demonstrated experience in project management, engineering design and/or construction fields including reports, priorities, scheduling and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Manage the response to Immediate Actions.
• Attend nighttime and/or weekend inspections as needed.
• Perform structural inspections of bridges, buildings and retaining walls.
• Evaluate defects, deterioration and safety concerns and recommend repairs.
• Collaborate on annual QA budgets and allocate projects to staff or consultants.
• Develop RFPs, manage the RFP process and negotiate consultant fees.
• Maintain the Structural Integrity Database (SID) for reports and repairs.
• Assist in staff and consultant management.
