Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to design and execute test strategies for Personal Insurance platforms within an agile environment.

You will build and maintain Playwright-based automation in TypeScript, validate REST APIs and CI/CD integrations, and collaborate with product, development and ops teams to improve quality across microservices and mainframe systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in QA/testing.
• Experience with Personal Insurance policy systems.
• Experience designing UI and API automation frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Strong REST API knowledge and microservices testing.
• CI/CD integration experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.
• Mainframe knowledge for backend validation.
• Excellent communication and Agile teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test strategies for Personal Insurance applications across the policy lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using Playwright/TypeScript to enable continuous testing.
• Perform functional, integration, API, end-to-end, regression, and system testing across microservices and mainframe-integrated apps.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, BAs, Developers, Solution Engineers, Architects and Scrum teams.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and establish quality gates.
• Validate policy transactions and workflows using ACORD standards.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure coverage of quote-to-issue workflows.
• Support backend validation across modern and legacy systems, including mainframe.
• Lead risk-based testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate testing efforts with other engineers and report status metrics.
