Job summary

Somnio Software is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to ensure our products work well and feel right for users. This role emphasizes exploratory and user-centric testing rather than automation, with a focus on critical thinking and providing evidence-based insights.

You’ll join a fast-moving product team on a complex platform, learning workflows and business rules to think like both an end user and an admin. This is a part-time, 20 hours/week remote engagement with potential for ongoing work based on

Qualifications

• Solid senior-level QA experience with a focus on exploratory and user-centric testing.
• Strong product sense and ability to understand complex workflows and user goals.
• Depth, curiosity and attention to detail; not satisfied with surface-level testing.
• Proactive attitude with the courage to voice opinions with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Run deep exploratory testing across areas, covering edge cases and friction points.
• Learn complex workflows and business rules to think like end user and admin.
• Flag issues even when something technically works if the experience falls short, with evidence.
• Decide what to test in a changing product and prioritize high-impact areas.
• Deliver actionable findings with problem statements, user impact, evidence and priority.
• Mix exploratory testing, continuous validation and light regression as the product evolves.
• Work directly with the client: ask questions, share progress, seek feedback and discuss risks.
