Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking an experienced QA Lead to drive software quality across retail systems. You will define testing strategy, lead teams, and build automation to maximize coverage for WMS, RMS, OMS and ERP interfaces.

Strong collaboration with end users, technical and functional teams is essential to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. The role requires 7+ years in QA, hands-on automation, and the ability to mentor peers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, systems engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 7 years testing retail applications such as WMS, RMS, OMS.
• Strong SQL experience.
• 7+ years with HPQC/ALM and Jira/Zephyr.
• Experience in QA manual and automation development.
• 4+ years testing distributed applications and ERP/web apps.
• Experience in SI testing, end-to-end testing, regression testing and interface testing.
• Experience creating test strategy, test cases, defect management and test closure reports.
• Experience setting up automation testing framework.
• Write, design, and execute automated tests with Selenium/UFT as needed.

Responsibilities

• Leading teams and the project management aspect of the testing phase for software development projects.
• Define and implement QA processes, practices, and toolsets across the department.
• Lead QA and functional/development teams to create test data sets for data validation and end-to-end testing.
• Evaluate and improve software engineering processes to meet evolving business needs.
• Train and mentor peers to provide a consistent software quality engineering experience.
• Identify quality issues and recommend solutions to minimize risk.
• Review specifications to ensure understanding of deliverables.
• Identify test requirements and map test cases accordingly.
• Design, build and execute automated tests using Selenium/UFT.
• Create and improve test automation strategies and regression suites.
• Maintain automated test scenarios and judge test outcomes.
• Participate in cross-team QA and process-improvement initiatives.
• Analyze large amounts of data from automation testing.
• Lead test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
