Job description

Playrix is one of the most successful mobile game development companies in the world. In terms of mobile application revenue, we rank first in Europe and are in the top 3 worldwide. Our games have been installed 2.3 billion times (that's a third of the world's population!) and more than 30 million people around the world play them every day.

Team, about the role

We're seeking a QA specialist to join our testing team.

If you're interested in the game dev industry or already have experience working in it, want to gain unique experience, and develop professionally in an unconventional and complex engineering field, then you're welcome to join us.

Our team is working on a new technical Playrix product — a gaming framework and modules that we use to create our mobile gaming masterpieces.

We foresee the active participation of a QA engineer in a product's entire life cycle, from the formation of functional requirements to the preparation of test scenarios and their subsequent automation. This requires the deep study of and assumption of responsibility for specific product areas.

Tasks
  • Providing the quality control and testing of a complex product (game framework and modules), leading features through all stages of their life cycle
  • Integration and system testing between different components of the framework, as well as with game projects
  • Creating and maintaining test documentation
  • Participating in bug management processes
  • Participating in quality improvement processes for the product
  • Working with multiple development and CI tools (Git, TeamCity, Qase, etc.)
  • Participating in test automation processes
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in testing
  • Experience in testing complex systems with extensive functionality (tools without UI, IDE, game engines, backend of complex desktop applications, embedded systems software)
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages and/or the ability to apply white box design test techniques
  • Excellent knowledge of testing theory and the ability to apply it in practice, in particular, the ability to apply test design techniques
  • Analytical thinking and a systematic approach to problem-solving
  • Good knowledge of SDLC and an understanding of how to take a feature through SDLC and release it as top-quality
  • Experience with various dev and CI tools (Git, SVN, Perforce, TeamCity, Jenkins, Qase, TestRail, Confluence, Jira, etc.)
Preferred
  • Understanding of software architecture
  • Familiarity with game engines
  • Experience in building integration tests and data-driven testing
  • Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD tools; understanding and organization of pipelines within a QA framework
  • Understanding of and ability to read C#/C++ code
You'll like working with us because you'll get to…
  • Leave your mark on products that are loved by millions of people around the world
  • Work with professionals who have unique expertise in mobile game development
  • Develop both within QA (from manual testing to automation and management) and outside this role
  • Make processes and approaches more efficient without lengthy approvals or bureaucracy
Flexibility at work
  • For most positions we offer a flexible schedule, and employees can work from anywhere in the world (except for the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus). You can do your work however and wherever you like — we only evaluate your results.
Caring for health and well-being
  • We provide voluntary health insurance for employees and their children, and reimburse online sessions with a psychologist.
  • We offer fully paid vacation days and sick leave. In certain circumstances, you can request additional days off.
  • We support leading a healthy lifestyle and reimburse the cost of gym memberships and fitness app subscriptions.
Professional development and education
  • We pay for participation in specialized conferences and courses and hold our own internal conferences.
  • We offer discounts on English language courses and courses for the languages of the countries in which the company operates.
Events and merch
  • We regularly hold offline events like team meetings, big corporate parties, and informal office parties.
  • We also regularly organize fun competitions, quizzes, hackathons, and online fitness challenges.
  • We have a merch store with an internal currency you can use to buy unique gifts. We give out this currency as a gift for significant dates, and you can earn more by participating in events and company activities.
