Base pay range

$120,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Job Title: Senior QA Engineer (Automation Lead)

Location: Remote (U.S. based)

Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire

Base Comp: $120-140k, DOE

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior QA Engineer to be the first SDET hire on our client's growing engineering team. This is a foundational role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and wants to shape the future of quality engineering from the ground up.

What You’ll Do:

• Build the Automation Framework: Design and implement scalable test automation for a Microsoft-based stack, with some newer AWS components.
• Lead Quality Strategy: Define and implement a test matrix, establish best practices, and introduce quality gates across the SDLC.
• Mentor: Provide technical guidance to one QA resource and help elevate the overall quality culture across engineering.
• Champion Unit Testing: Collaborate with developers to improve unit test coverage and quality, and help define what “good” looks like.
• Drive CI/CD Integration: Ensure automated tests are integrated into pipelines and support rapid, reliable releases.
• Own Quality Metrics: Define and track KPIs for test coverage, defect rates, and release readiness.

What You Bring:

• Proven experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET and experience testing Microsoft-based applications.
• Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native testing strategies.
• Experience mentoring or managing other testers.
• Demonstrated career growth and passion for learning

Bonus Points:

• Experience with desktop application testing (WPF, WinForms).
• Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools or test generation.
• Passion for improving developer productivity and release confidence.
