Job summary

Makai Digital LLC is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to own manual and automated testing across web, mobile, and API platforms. You will define test strategies, build scalable automation, and integrate tests into CI/CD with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.

Collaboration with developers, PMs, and leads is essential to deliver reliable, secure software with strong performance. Responsibilities include exploratory testing, API validation (REST/GraphQL), and defect tracking in Jira.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance, with a proven track record in both manual and automated testing.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining modern test automation frameworks using Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.
• Deep experience testing APIs (REST, GraphQL) using tools like Postman and automated API testing libraries.
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in exploratory testing, edge-case identification, and test plan creation.
• Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).
• Proficiency with bug tracking and test management systems (Jira, Confluence, TestRail, or Zephyr).
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum processes and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Define QA strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases based on product specs and acceptance criteria.
• Perform thorough manual, regression, integration, accessibility, and exploratory testing.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for web applications and APIs.
• Validate RESTful and GraphQL APIs using automated suites and manual tools.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects in Jira with engineering teams.
• Champion quality best practices across the SDLC and participate in backlog refinement and code reviews.
