Job summary

System One seeks a Sr. Quality Automation Engineer in Cleveland, OH to design and implement high-quality automated UI and API tests for web applications.

You will craft industry-standard test automation, run in-sprint testing, and manage comprehensive test plans within an Agile delivery. Responsibilities include developing regression tests for web and backend apps, executing API tests with Karate, and collaborating with DevOps to gate quality in the delivery pipeline.

Qualifications

• 6+ years as a quality engineer in Agile teams.
• 6+ years of test automation with Selenium and Cucumber.
• Experience with Karate and Playwright.
• Experience managing code in Azure DevOps, Git, or SVN.
• Proficiency in API testing with Karate and BDD frameworks.
• 4+ years creating automated regression tests for web and backend apps.
• 3+ years writing SQL scripts and performing data testing.
• Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps toolchains.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated UI and API tests for web apps.
• Create industry-standard test automation solutions and scripts.
• Perform in-sprint manual and automation testing in Agile environments.
• Develop and manage comprehensive test plans and traceability.
• Write regression test plans for validation subjects.
• Provide testing estimates during discovery and sprints.
• Investigate test failures and update scripts accordingly.
• Replicate production defects in lower environments and log defects.
• Provide walkthroughs to developers and QA leads.
• Collaborate with DevOps to set up quality gates and run tests in delivery pipelines.
• Automate repetitive validation tasks using browser-based and API tools.
• Report testing results and metrics to QA leads and stakeholders.
• Partner with product teams to define acceptance criteria and BDD tests.
• Perform software testing lifecycle activities.
