Job summary

instinctools is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer for a fully remote role. You will focus on API tests and model-service integration testing, treating ML models as a black box.

Strong Python/Pytest, Linux, and Docker/Kubernetes skills are required, with experience in CI/CD and backend testing. You will work with a data science-focused team to automate QA across REST and gRPC services, leveraging Kafka/Kibana and SQL.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of total engineering experience, with 3+ years in automation, predominantly backend testing.
• Strong Python (Pytest) skills for writing test scripts, and solid Linux/Bash experience.
• Understanding of Docker/Kubernetes and basic CI/CD, with the ability to analyze backend service logs.
• Skilled in testing RESTful and gRPC APIs, with basic SQL proficiency.
• Experience with Kafka and Kibana, or a willingness to quickly learn them.
• Good understanding of client-server and/or microservice architecture.
• Familiarity with the basics of Machine Learning, and comfortable treating ML models as a black box for testing purposes.
• Active use of AI assistants in daily work.
• Strong team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all stages of the product lifecycle, from concept through deployment, testing backend services and analyzing results to identify issues.
• Write API automated tests (Pytest or similar) and maintain test plans, test cases, and documentation.
• Identify, document, and track bugs through a bug tracking system, and perform regression testing to ensure stability after changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and TechOps to clarify requirements and improve quality management processes.
