Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to support a federal modernization and data migration program. This position is on-site in Huntsville, AL, with standard daytime hours. Candidates must have an active Top Secret security clearance.

The Senior QA Automation Engineer will lead automated testing efforts that strengthen application reliability, validate migrated data, and support secure software delivery. This contract opportunity has an anticipated duration of more than two years and involves close collaboration with development, cloud, migration, and DevSecOps teams.

Responsibilities for the Senior QA Automation Engineer include:

• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks covering user interfaces, APIs, microservices, and data workflows
• Integrate repeatable functional, regression, and integration tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Verify migrated datasets for accuracy, completeness, and consistency between source and target systems
• Execute end-to-end tests across cloud and on-premises environments, investigate defects, and coordinate resolution
• Perform smoke testing, release verification, and deployment readiness checks
• Partner with engineering and product teams during sprint planning, backlog refinement, and readiness reviews
• Maintain test plans, automation scripts, defect records, test results, and regression coverage documentation in accordance with program standards

Required Qualifications for the Senior QA Automation Engineer include:

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in software testing, QA automation, or test engineering
• Extensive experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Robot Framework, Postman, or comparable technologies
• Experience incorporating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Strong knowledge of API testing, microservice integration testing, and automated regression coverage
• Experience validating large-scale data migration results and troubleshooting data-related defects
• Strong analytical, communication, and technical documentation skills
• Must have an Active Top Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications for the Senior QA Automation Engineer include:

• Experience supporting federal law enforcement, Intelligence Community, or national security programs
• Experience testing cloud applications or data workflows, preferably in AWS
• Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Locust, or Gatling
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell

Compensation for the Senior QA Automation Engineer includes:

Salary Range: $115,000-$130,000 annually, depending on experience
