Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a federal modernization program in Huntsville, Alabama. The role focuses on secure automation, IaC, and deployment pipelines across AWS and on-prem environments.

You will collaborate with multiple teams to improve delivery reliability, ensure security controls, and maintain comprehensive pipeline documentation. An active Top Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in DevSecOps or secure automation with a Bachelor’s degree
• Experience building pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployment environments
• Experience using Terraform, CloudFormation, and configuration management technologies
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms and secure development practices
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Must have an Active Top Secret Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines that automate software builds, testing, security scanning, and application deployments
• Integrate dependency management, artifact controls, vulnerability scanning, and code quality checks into secure delivery workflows
• Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or comparable technologies to automate provisioning and configuration
• Manage version control, branching strategies, and build processes while incorporating logging, monitoring, and alerting into cloud and hybrid environments
• Support federal security requirements through automated compliance checks, artifact tracking, and audit documentation
• Collaborate with development, cloud, data, QA, and product teams to troubleshoot deployment issues, improve pipeline performance, and support release readiness
• Maintain documentation covering pipeline configurations, infrastructure templates, and deployment procedures

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a company delivering federal modernization, cloud transformation, and mission-critical technology solutions. This position is on-site in Huntsville, AL.

The Senior DevOps Engineer will develop secure automation, infrastructure as code, and deployment pipelines across AWS and on-premises environments. This opportunity supports the modernization of critical government systems by improving software delivery, integrating security controls, and increasing deployment reliability.

Responsibilities for the Senior DevOps Engineer include:

Preferred Qualifications for the Senior DevOps Engineer include:

• Experience supporting DOJ, FBI, Intelligence Community, or other national security programs


• Experience working with AWS infrastructure and cloud deployment workflows


• Familiarity with microservices, serverless frameworks, and distributed systems


• Experience automating security scanning with SonarQube, Snyk, Anchore, Twistlock, or Nessus


• Experience developing automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell

Compensation for the Senior DevOps Engineer includes:
