Job summary

Mutual of Omaha is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to own automation efforts within our Workplace Solutions division. You will partner with BAs and engineers across multiple teams to assess readiness, set up tooling, and write robust automation scripts.

You will drive CI/CD integration, mentor teammates, and help define test plans and scenarios for critical workflows, including REST/SOAP APIs. This role offers remote flexibility with periodic in-person planning.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in QA automation engineering.
• Hands-on proficiency with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman.
• Experience with API testing (REST/SOAP).
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
• Ability to work across microservices, legacy systems, and AWS cloud environments.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-starter mentality and ability to manage own workload within an ART.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the dedicated QA Automation Engineer for an ART within Workplace Solutions, partnering with BAs and engineers across teams.
• Assess automation readiness and prioritize applications/workflows to automate.
• Help teams set up and organize QA tooling and processes.
• Collaborate on writing, reviewing, and improving automation scripts and best practices.
• Assist in developing test plans and scenarios, identifying workflows worth automation.
• Provide hands-on automation scripting support and integrate suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Review scripts and mentor team members on testing fundamentals and automation practices.
