Mindrift is seeking a Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer to join the Tendem project on a freelance, part-time basis. You will lead end-to-end web scraping, data extraction, and processing, using tools like Apify and OpenRouter to deliver accurate, structured datasets across dynamic sites.

This is a remote, highly autonomous role with flexible hours during active phases. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in data engineering or scraping, strong Python skills, and experience with anti-bot measures,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development
• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields is a plus
• Strong scripting, automation, and data extraction workflow background
• Ability to solve non-trivial problems with modern development tools
• Self-directed, detail-oriented, independent work ethic

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data extraction workflows across complex websites
• Leverage tools and custom workflows to accelerate data collection and validation
• Ensure extraction from dynamic sources including JS/AJAX content
• Enforce data quality through validation and formatting checks
• Scale scraping operations with batching or parallelization and monitor failures
