Job summary

Capgemini in Hanover, NJ is seeking a backend developer to design, build, and maintain Python-based GenAI services and MCP integrations, delivering secure, scalable APIs and workflows.

You will collaborate with product owners and engineers to implement RAG pipelines, orchestration of LLM workflows, and production-grade backend components with FastAPI, async patterns, and robust security. Experience in banking/regulated environments and cloud deployment in AWS is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience in Python for backend ML or GenAI applications.
  • Proven experience building GenAI applications, LLM workflows, and AI-enabled production services.
  • Solid understanding of MCP concepts and practical implementation patterns for tools, servers and clients.
  • Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks and vector search, embeddings, and grounding patterns.
  • Experience developing APIs and backend services using FastAPI and async Python.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance and maintain Python-based GenAI services, agent workflows and MCP integrations.
  • Implement agent orchestration flows including tool calling, function calling and workflow execution.
  • Integrate data sources into agent workflows and design RAG pipelines with embeddings and citations.
  • Develop production-grade backend services and secure APIs using Python, FastAPI and secure patterns.
  • Implement authentication, authorization and entitlement checks; perform testing, logging and monitoring.
