Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Senior Python Full-Stack Engineer to design and optimize data pipelines, annotation tooling, and evaluation systems for AI research infrastructure. This is a fully remote hourly contract with flexible hours, offering work on production systems at the frontier of AI development.

You will collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams, contribute to scalable backend services, and help improve performance and safety of existing Python codebases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade Python
• Full-stack developer with strong systems programming background
• Experience building robust backend services or scalable data pipelines
• Comfortable with performance optimization and concurrency (asyncio, multiprocessing, threading)
• Familiar with type safety tooling (Pydantic, mypy) and modern Python tooling

About The Role

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance Python systems supporting large-scale AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows
• Develop full-stack tooling and backend services for data annotation, validation, and quality control at scale
• Improve the reliability, performance, and safety of existing Python codebases
• Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation infrastructure
• Identify bottlenecks and edge cases in data and system behavior — then implement scalable, production-ready fixes
• Participate in synchronous design reviews to iterate on architecture and implementation decisions

Who You Are

• Native or fluent English speaker with clear written and verbal communication skills
• Full-stack developer with a strong systems programming background
• 5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade Python
• Deep understanding of performance optimization and concurrency — asyncio, multiprocessing, threading
• Comfortable with type safety tooling such as Pydantic and mypy
• Experienced building robust backend services (FastAPI, Django, or similar) or scalable data pipelines
• Able to commit 20–40 hours per week with consistency
