Job summary

Sharp Decisions is seeking a Senior Python Developer to design, develop, and support high-performance Front Office trading applications in a hybrid Charlotte, NC environment.

You will work closely with Front Office traders, quantitative analysts, and technology teams to build scalable Python solutions, REST APIs, and low-latency services, while advancing CI/CD, testing, and deployment practices in real-time market data environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional Python development experience.
• Strong Python and OO design.
• Experience building REST APIs (FastAPI, Flask, Django).
• Knowledge of multithreading, multiprocessing, asynchronous programming, and performance optimization.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Knowledge of messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or MQ.
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Linux/Unix skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python applications supporting Front Office trading platforms.
• Develop and enhance trading applications, pricing engines, market data services, and OMS.
• Collaborate with traders, quants, business analysts, and technology teams to deliver solutions.
• Build APIs, microservices, and backend services for real-time trading and market data processing.
• Optimize application performance for low-latency trading environments.
• Integrate applications with market data providers and trading platforms.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing support for Front Office applications.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and code reviews.
• Develop automated unit tests and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure code quality, scalability, security, and compliance with standards.
