Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend systems.
• Strong Python expertise for scalable applications.
• Experience in financial services and capital markets.
• Knowledge of trade processing and post-trade workflows.
• Design of distributed, high-throughput data-intensive apps.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS and modern cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Kafka or Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop highly scalable, distributed backend systems supporting institutional trading, financing and risk management.
• Build robust, high-performance Python services handling complex financial transactions and large volumes of market data.
• Design and optimise data processing pipelines supporting real-time financial analytics.
• Develop integrations with exchanges, trading platforms and external financial counterparties.
• Take technical ownership of core trading infrastructure, improving reliability, scalability and performance.
• Collaborate with quantitative researchers, trading teams and business stakeholders to deliver sophisticated financial technology solutions.
• Drive architectural decisions, establish engineering best practices and mentor other engineers.
• Ensure critical systems meet demanding production reliability, availability and performance standards.
