Job summary

Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to design, build, and scale our core backend infrastructure for a global financial institution in Jersey City, NJ or New York, NY. You will lead the creation of robust, high‑performance services that handle heavy traffic and emphasize architectural integrity, scalability, and maintainability.

You will architect distributed systems, optimize data throughput, and mentor teammates through code reviews and testing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python backend development.
• Designed microservices or distributed systems with load balancers and caching layers.
• Identified and resolved performance issues in Python, including memory usage.
• Expert-level knowledge of FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Deep PostgreSQL/Oracle experience with SQLAlchemy and complex queries.
• Containerization with Docker and cloud deployments.
• Agile project methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitHub/Bitbucket.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable distributed systems using Python frameworks.
• Apply caching strategies (Redis) and asynchronous processing for responsiveness.
• Diagnose bottlenecks, optimize PostgreSQL/Oracle queries and schemas.
• Create modular models and interfaces with a clean codebase.
• Develop secure RESTful APIs with validation and error handling.
• Mentor the team; conduct code reviews and enforce testing standards.
• Develop test cases and perform unit testing.
