Job summary

Code Metal is seeking a backend software engineer to design and implement Python services and APIs that orchestrate mission- and campaign-level simulations. You will build scenario-generation workflows, Monte-Carlo analyses, and distributed infrastructure to run tests across developer workstations, on-premises, and cloud compute.

You will connect the Python tooling layer to core runtimes and expose results to analysts and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Proven professional experience delivering enterprise-grade Python software.
Experience gathering stakeholder requirements and translating them into software designs.
Strong SDLC practices including code review, testing, CI/CD, release management and build systems.
Familiarity with ML tooling and frameworks.
Expertise building scalable APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized development.

Responsibilities

Design and implement backend services and APIs for mission- and campaign-level simulation runs.
Build scenario-generation and Monte-Carlo based workflows for wargaming platforms.
Develop cloud-scale infrastructure for simulations across devices and environments.
Create data ingestion, normalization, and analysis pipelines for defense use.
Build scalable APIs and containerized services connecting Python tooling to the core runtime.
