Job summary

GRVTY is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a focused team in Dayton, Ohio, building Python-based tools for optical signature modeling, spectral data analysis, and ML-enabled sensor workflows.

You will work with scientists, domain experts, and analysts to translate complex requirements into robust software, spanning algorithm development, data pipelines, and ML integration into operational environments.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain SCI/CI polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 9+ years of software development, or 7+ years with a Master's.
• Expert-level Python programming with OO design and production-quality code.
• Experience building software for data-intensive workflows (sensor/scientific data).
• Ability to translate technical requirements into architecture, logic, and plans.
• Comfort in Windows and Linux, including secure/classified spaces.
• Familiar with Git-based tools (Git, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins).
• Strong communication with domain experts who are not software engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based software tools for optical signature modeling and data processing.
• Collaborate with sensor scientists, data scientists, and ML engineers to translate concepts into working software.
• Build and optimize data pipelines for large-scale datasets.
• Develop and integrate ML workflows into operational toolsets.
• Create architecture docs, diagrams, and clean code structure for maintainability.
• Test, validate, and troubleshoot modules across development and deployment, including secure spaces.
• Manage Git repositories with discipline and reproducible builds.
• Contribute to a culture of technical rigor and peer reviews.
