Job summary

Templeton & Partners is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Houston for a 6-month contract (with potential extensions up to 3 years) to design and automate a high-impact trading data system.

You will own end-to-end delivery, architect distributed pipelines, collaborate with stakeholders, and mentor junior staff, leveraging Python, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python with strong OOP fundamentals.
• Experience designing distributed, asynchronous systems across multi-machine environments.
• Hands-on experience with message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ and cloud infra (Azure/AWS).
• Strongly-typed language background and exposure to at least one language beyond Python.
• Database proficiency (SQL Server or Oracle) and CI/CD/DevOps understanding.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver end-to-end workstreams from design to deployment.
• Architect distributed pipelines for high-volume, real-time data processing.
• Bridge technology and business by translating trading requirements into robust code.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on testing and automation.
