Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a software engineer to develop and deliver complex Python-based solutions on the Quartz platform. You will design components, mentor teams on CI/CD, and drive acceptance criteria through the delivery lifecycle.

The role requires 3+ years of professional experience, strong Python skills, and experience with relational databases, RESTful APIs, and distributed computing. On-site Texas location with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python development.
• Experience developing enterprise applications on Quartz or similar distributed computing platforms (Athena or SecDB).
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering principles.
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line tools.
• Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
• Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained.
• Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack.
• Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle.
• Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
• Automates manual release activities.
• Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance).
• Design, develop, test, and support Python applications running on the Quartz platform.
