Job summary

Webbyfox is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to design, build, and scale backend services powering its products. You will own end-to-end architecture, API design, deployment, and monitoring while collaborating with product, data, and DevOps teams.

You will lead design discussions, mentor engineers, and optimize performance, security, and observability across the stack, with a remote-friendly, telecommuting setup and exposure to AWS, GCP, or Azure environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong Python expertise.
• Solid experience with Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
• Strong RESTful API design; GraphQL experience is a plus.
• Relational DBs (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and ORMs; NoSQL (Redis/MongoDB) a plus.
• Async programming (asyncio) and task queues (Celery/RS).
• Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong testing discipline (pytest) and CI/CD experience.
• Good software design patterns, system design, and security practices.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

We're looking for a Senior Python Engineer to design, build, and scale the backend systems that power our products. You'll own services end to end - from architecture and API design through to deployment and monitoring - and work closely with product, data, and DevOps teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong expertise in Python
• Solid experience with at least one major web framework (Django, FastAPI, or Flask)
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design; GraphQL experience is a plus
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and ORMs; NoSQL experience (Redis, MongoDB) is a plus
• Experience with asynchronous programming (asyncio) and task queues (Celery, RQ, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, and Kubernetes
• Strong testing discipline (pytest, unit/integration testing, TDD)
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git workflows, and monitoring/logging tools
• Good knowledge of software design patterns, system design, and security best practices
• Excellent communication skills and experience mentoring other engineers
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
