Job summary

City Science is hiring a Senior Python Developer to join our energy development team. You will design and implement Python packages on the Home Energy Model, enabling next-generation energy performance assessments.

You may manage one or more developers and contribute to leadership training, while delivering reliable software with urgency and accountability. We are a small SME founded in 2015 focusing on decarbonisation.

Qualifications

• Proven Python development experience in production-grade applications.
• Experience mentoring or leading junior engineers is a plus.
• Strong emphasis on code quality, testing and maintainable design.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and improve Python packages for modelling and data processing.
• Lead the energy development team and coordinate with domain experts.
• Line manage one or more developers, providing coaching and feedback.
• Ensure high-quality software through testing, documentation and code reviews.
