Senior Python Developer | Energy Trading Technology

Initial 6-Month Contract | Expected Extension to 2 Years+

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join a high-profile trading technology programme focused on transforming trade capture and risk management processes within a global commodities trading environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a strategic platform that will automate and streamline the flow of trading data into enterprise risk management systems, improving operational efficiency, data quality, and real-time business reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based APIs and distributed applications.
• Work independently across defined project streams and deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and technical leaders to define and deliver new functionality.
• Contribute to application architecture, design decisions, and technical strategy.
• Develop automated testing solutions and support quality assurance activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, delivering effective workarounds and bug fixes where required.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Support CI/CD and DevOps best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
